Policy
- If you cancel your test more than 4 weeks before the test date, you will receive a refund minus an administrative charge of $99.
- No refunds are given for cancellations within 4 weeks of the test date. If you cancel within 4 weeks of the test date, you will be charged the full fee.
- There is a $100 transfer fee if you wish to transfer your test date more than 4 weeks before the test date.
- If you miss the test because you are ill, you must provide a medical certificate within 5 days of the test date. You will receive a refund minus an administrative charge of $99.
Candidates seeking cancellation or transfer within the four-week period prior to the test date will only receive a refund/transfer if they can provide evidence that their ability to sit the test has been affected by a serious illness or cause:
- Serious illness - hospital admission or serious injury.
- Loss or bereavement - death of a close family member.
- Hardship/trauma - victim of crime, victim of traffic accident.
- Military service.
Candidates must file an application for refund or transfer no later than five (5) working days after the test date. You must complete a "Request for Refund or Test Day Transfer Form" and attach appropriate documentation and/or evidence: medical certificate from a qualified medical practitioner, a death notice or certificate or a police report.
The doctor’s note must be in English, on letterhead paper, stamped and signed by the doctor, state the doctor’s credentials and state both the illness and how this prevented you from taking the test. The note must also indicate the test date. A medical note which misses any of these requirements will be disregarded. Upon approval by the IELTS Administrator, a $100 fee is required. Once the fee has been paid, we will transfer your test.
Refunds
Refunds are paid by cheque and usually take 1-2 weeks from the date of the request to be processed and mailed out.

Absent or Late Arrival on Test Day
If a candidate is absent on the day of the test, they will lose the full test fee. If they wish to write the test, they must register anew and pay again.
If a candidate is late, they will not be admitted. No transfer or refund is possible, either.
